Find YouTube Ads Working in Your Niche the Smart Way
Have you ever wondered what specific video ads are working on YouTube right now and what ads are actively running in your niche? Well, we’re going to be talking about exactly how to figure that out today. I’m even going to show you a little hack for finding the landing pages that all of those ads are pushing to. And, you’re going to be able to do it without flipping through every single video on YouTube. So let’s go ahead and dive in. My name’s Justin Sardi, I’m the CEO and co-founder of tubesift.com. Like I said, today we’re going to be talking all about spying on the different ads running in your niche, and more importantly, how to do it well and automatically, without having to type in a specific keyword and scroll through every single video in hope that you find ads.
The Manual Way is Time Consuming
So how exactly are we going to do this? Well, the manual way to do it is, like I said, you’d have to go to YouTube, type in your specific keyword. Let’s just use how to set up YouTube ads for an example, right? So let’s say I want to know all of the ads that are showing when somebody is watching videos about how to set up YouTube ads. Now, odds are a good number of those are going to be targeted towards marketers or people running traffic, or if they’re really targeted ads, people that are teaching how to run ads on YouTube, right? Those are the kinds of ads we would expect to see. The only problem is doing it the manual way, by going and typing in that keyword, clicking on a video, hoping you see an ad, going to the next one, seeing it, clicking, checking out the landing page, it takes hours and hours of your time, and really it’s not what you need to be doing.
So today, like I said, we’re going to be talking all about how to do all of that automatically. The best way to do that is we actually added a brand new feature into TubeSift, which is an ad spy feature. Now TubeSift goes out and normally it’ll find monetized videos. It does that by scanning, going through YouTube’s API, scanning all of the videos, finding all of the ones that allow ads to be ran in front of them. But we got to thinking, “What would actually be better? What if we could actually pull those ads and also the landing pages from the monetized videos, because the software is going through, it’s seeing those ads?” I was like, “What if we can just snag those URLs and spit them out and show them to all of our users?”
Using TubeSift for Ads Campaign Intelligence
So the best way that you can actually go about finding all of the ads and landing pages is to jump on over to TubeSift, type your keyword in, make sure you have monetized search on, and click search. From there you’re going to see an Ads Seen button. You just click on that, and it’s going to show you all of the ads that the software saw running on those specific videos, which is extremely helpful if you are doing any type of advertising on YouTube for a number of reasons. Number one, the first thing that I like to do when I’m going through these ads is I like to click on it and watch the video, just see what’s working. But the first thing I’m going to look at is what date that was published and also how many views it has. That’ll give me a general idea of how much traffic is running to this video. If it’s a low number of views, might be working, might not. But if it’s a lot of views, you know that that specific ad is resonating with the people in your niche, and you know that it’s working, because nobody’s going to spend a lot of money pumping views through a video if it’s not converting for them.
Breaking Down other Ads to Improve your Own Ads
So once you find out what ads are running, you can watch those videos and see what some of the key selling points, what the hook is, what the call to action is, and you can emulate that in your ads, knowing that those ones with a lot of views are effectively working, and you can apply some of those things to your ads. So that’s one of the things I love doing there. And then the other thing I like doing is checking out the landing pages. Next to the actual video that you can see, you can see the landing page or the destination where that ad is pushing to. Now, with some of the bigger ads like Grammarly or things like that, they’re just pushing back to grammarly.com. But if anything has a specific landing page on that domain, TubeSift is going to find that as well. You can click on that, see what kind of ad or what kind of copy they’re using on their landing page, what calls to action they’re doing there, and also what they’re promoting in general. So it’s a really good way to come up with new angles, see what’s going on in your niche, all of that good stuff.
And that’s exactly how you do that. We just use TubeSift type in the keyword, and it will spit all of that out automatically. So if you do want to get this new ads by feature, all you have to do is have a TubeSift membership. It comes with both the annual and the monthly license. So you can jump on over to tubesift.com, we’ll also link to that below this video. You can jump to tubesift.com, sign up for a membership and get that ads by feature. If you are a current member also, that is automatically pushed out into your account, so jump on over to the members’ area, log into your TubeSift dashboard, and it will automatically show you the ads as well as the landing pages that your competitors or people in your niche are running.
So that’s it for me. Please give us that thumbs up if you’re watching on YouTube, subscribe to our channel. And as always, get that TubeSift membership so you can start precision targeting your YouTube ads. Bye for now.
