What types of audiences are there?

Jasmin Rove: Hi, guys. What’s up? I’m Jasmin Rove, your YouTube ad specialist. I always wanted to ask this to my viewers: are you aware of what kind of audiences are around in this market that makes them get attracted to few products and services? If you know your answer, please mention in the comment below. Anyways, in today’s video, I will be talking about some targetings that we could use to excel our campaigns after having some understanding about audience temperature and intent of audiences. The audiences are usually categorized based on temperature. What I mean is there are cold audiences, warm audiences, and hot audiences. Cold audiences are the ones who don’t know anything about your product and services. Warm audiences are the ones who already know about you and your products and services, but haven’t put too much thought about investing in it. And the hot audiences are the ones who are already using your products and services.

The audiences can be categorized depending on their intent and how aware they are of the issue.

Know the intent of the audience

Based on the temperature of these audiences, we can know the intent of the audiences. One who is not aware of the issue. The second type of audiences are who are aware of the issue, but not the solution. The third kind of audiences are who are aware of the issue as well as the solution, but are not aware where to find them. And finally, the fourth kind of audiences are who are aware of the issue, the solution, as well as the offers around them. Our main goal through YouTube ads is to start targeting warmer audiences first and then go up to the cold audiences. Based on the intent of these audiences, we could use several targeting methods that would make us have more profitable campaigns. As I mentioned, we will be targeting the warmer audiences and then go up to the cold audiences.

This targeting option works for the audiences that are aware of the issue as well as the solution, but not aware of where to find it.

How to target your type of audience?

To make sure that we have some profitable campaigns based on these warmer audiences, we can use some targetings like keyword targeting, placement targeting, custom intent and retargeting. These are the four top kinds of targeting strategies we could use for warmer audiences. Now let’s go up to a lesser warm audiences who are aware of the issue, the solution, but are not aware of the offers around them. For these kinds of audiences, we could use targeting like similar audiences, custom intent, in-market, and placement campaigns. These are the kinds of targetings we could use for these kinds of audiences. Now let’s switch to the cold audiences who are not too cold, neither too warm. For those kind of audiences, we could use targeting like placement, custom intent, keywords, similar audiences, and in-market. These are the five kind of targetings we could use for such kind of audiences.

And now finally going up to the coldest audience, we could use targetings like custom affinity, topics, and keywords. We reach such kind of audiences only when we have seen a lot of conversions, sales, or profits through the previous kind of audiences, like the warm audiences and a lesser cold audiences. So first, try these kinds of targetings and then move up to targeting the coldest audience in the market in order to get some profits through them. This is something I have been using to excel in my campaigns as well, and it’s working out really well.
